Regions and regional networks
As set out in the IRCT's statutes, the Global Network of Rehabilitation Centres and Programmes of the IRCT is divided into seven voting regions, from which centres can nominate members to the IRCT General Assembly.
The seven IRCT voting regions:
- Asia
- Europe
- Latin America & the Caribbean
- Middle East & North Africa
- North America
- Pacific
- Sub Saharan Africa
The regional networks:
Centres and programmes have also formed networks with their regional colleagues in nearly all regions.
While the nature of these networks varies - some are relatively formalised, and others have looser structures - they often provide an excellent forum for facilitating and sharing expertise, developments, knowledge and experiences in the field of rehabilitation of torture survivors. These regional networks are in some cases formally recognised by the IRCT.
