SA, Sri Lanka

Survivors Associated (SA) was established in 1996 to conduct psychosocial development activities at grassroots level in conflict areas.

Since year 2007 SA has been working with SOSRAC India and CRTS Bangladesh for the rehabilitation of torture survivors under the auspices of the European Union.

This work encompasses training of SA staff in the identification and reintegration of torture survivors into society, the training of medical & legal personnel in the proper care, documentation and redress for torture survivors, as well as implementing regional programs for organisations working with torture survivors for discussion of common methodology and documents. The rehabilitation module of this project includes medical, psychological and social care for torture survivors and their families.
