Defusing the ticking bomb: a new report from APT
25-09-2007The Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT) recently released the report, "Defusing the ticking bomb scenario: why we must say NO to torture, always", prepared in consultation with a number of individual experts and human rights organisations, including the IRCT, who were present at a meeting in Geneva in June 2007 to discuss the issue.
This report provides essential arguments against the scenario and its proposed exceptions to the absolute prohibition against torture.
